Night 7: Villa Maria

November 18, 2011
Read a more complete version of Day 7 of our motorcycle trip here.

We made it all the way to Villa Maria despite all the delays (Santiago de Estero, 30m wait at a gas station, random breathalizer checkpoint). The hills toward Cordoba were beautiful, with one stretch of fast rolling hills being the kind of terrain that inspires motorcycles' existence.

A good coffee made the last 2 hours possible, riding at night on the autopista expressway, speed limit 130 kph. (Nighttime highway riding is a very hightened sensory experience, with muscle memory handling the invisible controls and the scenery reduced to rapidly passing dots of light.)

Now we're at a motel in Villa Maria. It was nice to get a shower (even a full-bathroom squeegee setup like most establishments here). Breakfast tomorrow is at 7, then we hit the autopista again for the final leg through the pampas back to Buenos Aires.
