Living within day trip-distance of Virginia wineries is somehow not the same.<br /><br />When we went to Napa and Sonoma several years ago our favorite tasting room experiences were Joseph Swann (http://www.swanwinery.com) and Hopper Creek (http://hoppercreek.com). Both were casual, less commercial experiences -- no tour busses, no travertine floors.
